Forum Oed is a neighbourhood housing project where the focus lays on enhancement of local supplies in a suburban residential area of the city Linz. About 140 apartments and 20 retail spaces for shops and gastronomy are located within the housing project. All of them are included in the signage design concept which guides the way to find orientation around the area. Locals and visitors are following the speech-bubble-shaped pins on the grounds, facades and walls. Shop owners are supposed to provide their own logo designs which can be placed on the signages, while public infrastructure and private apartments are integrated into the corporate identity design of the project. The outsticking signages on the facades are inspired by historical forged iron signs which used to mark the guildes of local craftmen.
