In 2015 the United Nations have defined 17 Sustainable Development Goals to rise prosperity for people and planet. While actions shall be taken on political levels, civic grassroot activists are targeting this goals in the surroundings they are living in by finding small-scale bottom-up solutions. On the example of local initiatives in Helsinki, we (a research group at the University of Helsinki) have created a blog that aims at explaining the connection between grassroots and the 17 SDGs, reminding about

one’s own abilities and power, and inspiring everyone to become active themselves,

for more socially sustainable communities.
