The Design Festival Bern is hosting the exhibition Exchange for Change, a platform for Swiss-Finnish cultural exchange. Design is an integral part in the life of Finnish people and provides solutions on small and big scales: from the first days spent in the Baby Box to smart functions of Finnish cities. As a response to the changing world and environmental challenges, this exhibition presents young Finnish designers who are transforming traditional craftsmanship into democratic, experimental and sustainable design processes. On show are hybrid creations between design, art and science. They are produced by using locally sourced, bio-based materials made from for example fungus, cellulose or waste products.
